Lieve mensen,
hierbij wat betitelde foto's en voor de motor liefhebbers (Bert/Oea, Gerard, Jacob) en geinteresseerden een video van een stukje 'weg'. En Hendrik: maak je geen zorgen. Ze zijn overal te vinden. Gerard en Mieke: OLIEBOLLEN altijd welkom, want ik ga hier Oud en Nieuw feest organiseren.

    Hai lieve Basje,

    Wat een mooie foto's!Leek net of we op een foto een blikje grolsh zagen:)
    Je HUIS waar je nu verblijft ziet er ook niet onaardig uit. Gaat alles goed met je? Op de foto's zie je er goed uit. Hier is Hessel aan het snotteren en hij heeft erg last van zn keel, heb ik vorige wk gehad. Vanochtend hebben we alweer even de auto moeten krabben!
    Vanavond naar werk, Hessel theater en ik bovenbouwfeest. We missen je best!

    Even een groet uit ons koude kikkelandje. Het is hier tot op het bot koud! Akelig dat alle bladeren van de bomen vallen en het is volop herfst... dus je begrijpt; het is borrelweer;-) Doen we ook volop: marcobakkeren.
    Merk dat jij het lekker hebt daar. Als we je missen draaien we One van U2 en dan zijn we met gedachten in Cambodia;-)

    Kun je me je e mail adres even toe mailen dan kan ik je ook eens een wat meer persoonlijk boodschap sturen. Ik mail je mijn e mail adres voor de zekerheid nog maar een keer. De vorige keer is je vast ontgaan. Voor het moment; ik ben blij te merken via je weblog, dat je op zijn bassiaans aan het genieten bent. Het is helemaal Bas! Met ons gaat ook alles goed. Een heel ander leven dan dat van jij, maar ook heel leuk.Ik ben momenteel druk bezig met het organiseren van het Sinterklaasfeest hier op school. Sint Rinke zal de boel hier eens flink op stelten zetten.....

    Nu ik dit schrijf zit je moeder naast mij alsmede je tante Ina.
    Ik ben onder de indruk van je onderneming, lees een beetje jaloers ha ha
    Geweldig dat jij jezelf dit gunt. Erg mooi al die foto' s en de verhalen.
    We zijn in gedachten bij je en walgen van de foto waar je die vieze spin opeet. BAH.
    Stoer hoor. Je moeder heeft waarschijnlijk zojuist haar "schoondochter" gezien maar ja we weten niet welke we moeten uitkiezen. Ze zijn allemaal mooi.
    Ik wil graag op de hoogte blijven van je leven aldaar.
    Ik heb mij aangemeld voor jouw "nieuwsbrief".
    Wij, Je moeder, tante Ina en ikke natuurlijk geven je vanuit het koude Roosendaal een dikke kus.

Dear friends, family, ex colleagues and new ones!!

Welcome to this site. New stories, reports, pictures and even video's of my work and private life (until a certain level) in Cambodia will be uploaded on this site. Messages, reactions by readers can be uploaded too. I will be more than happy to read them...

My departure for Cambodia comes closer everyday by now. September the 5th will be the day that I'm leaving Holland. As for now, I've finished my motorbike lessons, some training weekends, passed an extensive medical test (no epo was found ;)

After my arrival, I will attend courses (mainly the Cambodian langugage called Khmer) and will probably meet a lot of people together with the team of new arrivals. My employer in Cambodia will be the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. I will be working on a district level as an educational adviser in a rough region of Cambodia. The district is called Rattanakiri (google the pics), not far from the border with Vietnam. From what I have seen so far it is an absolute scenic nature with hills, jungle, wild life and white water.

As for the internet and many other things, there are still a lot of questions to be answered how my life will change the next month. But with the questions comes that fantatic sensation of adventure. And with the uncertainty of not knowing what is out there in my daily life, comes the space to be able to make independent choices. I'm motivated to do this work as it is an opportunity to add a bit of human dignity to a world in which there is much more to share than I have done for the last years of my life. I'm looking more than forward to share professional knowledge and experience with a country that is still structurally suffering from a devastating regime of the past. Cambodia is trying to develop itself towards a country with a social and economic dignity. I'm looking foward to share, but will probably learn much more than I can share with the population out there.

I will try to keep everyone who is interested up to date. I do prefer to email personally but it might be a bit difficult to have decent acces to internet connection in Cambodia.

Please don't hesitate to write and to share whatever you feel like sharing. I will appreciate that.

Dear friends, family, ex colleagues and new ones!! Welcome to this site. New stories, reports, pictures and even video's of my work and private life (until a certain level) in Cambodia will be uploaded on this site. Messages, reactions by readers can be uploaded too.
